The George Rogers Clark Chapter, SAR is celebrating 79 years with a Special Dinner and Program at The Springfield Inn on Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at 6:30 P. M.
Guest Speaker
Our Guest Speaker will be Mrs. M. Kathy Combs, an Adjunct History Instructor from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, OH. Several GRCC members have heard her presentations and know you will enjoy her message. It is a meaningful reminder of our freedoms and heritage as descendants of Patriot Ancestors of the American Revolution. Come join us as Kathy Combs asks us and presents:
"HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN?"
Tracing the Events that led to the 'Shot Heard 'Round the World'.
Youth Contest
We will also meet our Youth Contest winner, hearing the winning essay in the George and Stella Knight SAR Essay Contest. Miss Jessica Slocum wrote a most appropriate essay for these times when there is so much talk in America about being united. She will present her essay titled:
