WHETSTONE & WHETSTONE
elected Vice Presidents in OHSSAR . . .
Compatriot Terry A. Whetstone, Past President of George Rogers Clark Chapter, and former Ohio Society (OHSSAR) State Secretary and Second Vice President, was elected by OHSSAR delegates to be its new First Vice President. The election occurred at the 112th Annual OHSSAR Conference held at Akron on May 4-5-6, 2001. Installation was conducted on Sunday May 6, 2001 following the Memorial Service for deceased compatriots. Installing President Roger P. Jones (Western Reserve Society), Compatriot Whetstone, and those nominees listed in THE OHIO BULLETIN Spring 2001 issue, was Compatriot Henry T. S. Heckman, OHSSAR Senior Trustee and longtime friend to GRCC.
Terry joins his father, Martin A. Whetstone (1996-1997 OHSSAR President), and the late Mitch Reedy (1992 OHSSAR President), as the most recent GRCC compatriot to be selected for the upper levels of Executive Leadership for your Ohio Society SAR. GRC Chapter's only other State Presidents were Compatriots Newton H. Fairbanks (1935) and Charles B. Zimmerman (1942).
Jan Whetstone, wife of Compatriot Terry Whetstone, was elected by the Ohio Society Ladies' Auxiliary as its new Vice President for 2000-2001 at its annual business meeting during the 112th Annual OHSSAR Conference on May 5, 2001.

Annual Patriot Grave Clean-up & Beautification
We will have the mulch and plants to be planted for the "Annual Flower Planting" at the Greenmount Cemetery (E. High St. side) on Sunday, May 20th, 2001 at 1:00 p.m.
The tools will be furnished by our usual crew. We need volunteers with green thumbs. Also we need water, and more water. Save your old milk jugs, and other containers, we never have too much water, and come out and just cheer us on if you do not have a green thumb. Get in the picture, as a crew member, that will be published on our SAR Web Site. We need all the inspiration we can get.
