What makes for a S.A.R. member?

First, an interest in preserving the heritage, ambitions, ideals, and beliefs of those noble men and women, our ancestors, who preceded us in life and into death, giving to we who follow, this Great Nation.

Then, read the pages about joining at the National website.

Any Man, age 18 or older, must provide proof of ancestry, showing that you are "a lineal descendant of an ancestor who supported the war for American Independence". They include "those persons who fought in the military and/or militia, who provided supplies to the American cause, who served on political bodies supporting the Revolution, or who signed oaths of support and similar acts."
